New website for Dragonmeet

Status 218 launch a brand new website for Dragonmeet RPG convention

(Updated 17 August 2026)

We are delighted to have launched a brand new website for Dragonmeet, the UK's largest RPG (role-playing game) convention.

Taking place each year in London, in late November or early December, Dragonmeet has run for 10 years and sees 4000 gamers gather to play games, browse hundreds of exhibitors, attend seminars, watch podcast recordings, buy and sell games, and much much more over the course of the one day convention.

With their original, self-built, site on Weebly, it was agreed that a move to Wordpress would allow them the flexibility to continue to manage the day-to-day operation of the site and its content themselves, but also allow a considerable refresh of the branding and content of the site to bring it up to date.

A new approach to branding and graphic design was created, with the dragon motif harking back to the original branding, but with a crisp, clear, font creating a bold impression on first-time visitors to the website.

We send one email a month, and never give your details to others.

The site itself needed to convey a large amount of information, but in a clear, easy-to-read and easy-to-navigate manner. A huge plus was the presence of professional photographers at previous events, giving us a host of excellent quality, on-site imagery to capture the feel of the convention without having to resort to stock photography.

Whilst ticket sales were handled through a third party platform, the site itself needed to be able to transact with exhibitors and sponsors, so Woocommerce was implemented, integrated with Square as its payment gateway, to allow for on-site sales.

For more information about the convention, visit its website. If you have a site that's a little dated and could benefit from a refresh, a move to a more modern platform like Wordpress, or are just interested in having a chat about how Status 218 can help you, get in touch.

We continued our work with community organisations shortly after — read about our new website for Tadcaster Harriers.
