We launch a brand new website for 5 Games 4 Doomsday

Dragging the cabin kicking and screaming into the 21st century

We chatted to the 5 Games 4 Doomsday team a couple of months back at a gaming convention, and realised that their website was...a little out of date.

As fans of the show, we were only to happy to create a new, revamped, platform for them that that seamlessly unites podcast episodes, YouTube videos, articles, and community features, whilst being simple and quick for them to administer.

The result is a elegant, content-focused site that serves a passionate boardgaming audience across multiple channels. Here's what we built for them.

The Architecture

We designed 5g4d.com to be a fresh, content-first, website, with intuitive navigation that lets visitors explore podcasts, videos, and articles independently or discover everything together. The site pulls from multiple sources - Spreaker for podcasts, YouTube for videos - and presents them through a cohesive interface that feels native, not bolted-on.

Content Organization

A robust categorization system powers thematic collections, making it easy for the community to drill down into specific mechanics or episodes. The "all releases" feed aggregates everything chronologically, ensuring nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

We send one email a month, and never give your details to others.

Community Integration

We integrated Discord and Patreon directly into the navigation, making it frictionless for listeners to support the show and join the community. These aren't afterthoughts—they're core to the experience.

Performance & Maintainability

The site runs lean and fast, with clean URLs, proper categorization, and semantic markup. Whether you're browsing on desktop or mobile, the experience is responsive and distraction-free—just the content and the community.

The Result

5g4d.com isn't just a portfolio site for a podcast. It's a platform built to grow with the show, support content creators, and foster a vibrant community around intelligent boardgaming. Every feature serves the mission: help listeners discover great games and great conversations.

That's what we do at Status 218. We build platforms that matter.

This isn't our first project in the gaming space — we previously launched a new website for Dragonmeet, the UK's largest RPG convention.
